People from abroad hear place-names like Surrey, in the United Kingdom, and picture luxuriant British countrysides, manor houses, quaint small-town pubs, and well-kept gardens. More boringly pleasant places than Surrey, England can’t exist in popular imagination actually.
Yet reality continues to rob us of these visions, and show just what the Surrey’s of the world have become.
From The Telegraph:
A man will appear in court charged with a series of offences in relation to an attack on a teenage girl who was raped and stabbed after being dragged from a Pizza Hut restaurant.
The 17-year-old was assaulted on Friday evening in Epsom, Surrey.
She was dragged from the Waterloo Road takeaway at around 10.30pm and found 20 minutes later in a nearby park by police.
The girl was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting where she is in a serious but not life-threatening condition, Surrey Police said.
Costica Voedes, 32, of High Street, Epsom, has been charged with two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of rape, kidnap, false imprisonment, possession of an offensive weapon, affray and common assault.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at South East Surrey Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Not pointed out by The Telegraph, of course, is the alien nature of her attacker. Costica Voedes could be an African from Eritrea, a Roma from Hungary, or any number of things. What we know for certain however, is that he is NOT British.
If young girls are now being dragged out of Pizza Huts in Surrey, of all places in the United Kingdom, I believe it safe to say that the country is at war. Perhaps in the coming week (more) Britons will realize that, resolve to free their country from traitors and invaders, and rush headlong into the fight.
